The above photo has a floyd (1000) R3 nut, nothing special, but the left side of the pic has an old Schaller screw and the right side has the readily available aftermarket screw. There is quite a difference in the pan head diameter, the new one being bigger. Anyone have a good bead on the original smaller ones?

If you can't find any you might have to file or sand around the larger one to make it small enough to fit in the neck holes. Or maybe you can try to find a shallow allen head or Phillips head screw that will fit..I have some but they are pretty worn out, for emergencies only.

I am going to the local hardware store tomorrow morning that has an excellent selection of odd and regular nuts and bolts, including black allen head bolts in lots of different sizes and types, if I can get the correct thread size and pitch I can let you know what the correct size is..if I find something I know will work and it's cheap enough maybe I can send you some..if you hear from me tomorrow that means I found something that will work properly.

Hey kremark, I just did some fitting of some bolts/screws in one of my R2 nuts, what I did find out for now is the string saddle lock bolts and the locking nut clamp bolt/screw are the same thread pitch just in case you have to look at any stores, but that should be a good reference point to start, if needed.

Super sweet! I was thinking they are the same thread pitch in metric as the top screws. Maybe M6? Anyway, good to see and hear from you Moshpit!

If the threading fits, you can use it. Get some course sander, tighten the screw into a drilling machine lke a drill and sand the edge off. It's over in less than a minute.
And definitely DO wear some protective glasses, always when working with machines and sanding.

Those guys make stainless steel screws IIRC, I also bought some from them and those were well made. But sanding down the screw you already have will surely be cheaper

The correct thread size is M4..I just tried a few,8/32 fine thread was close.

^^Thanks for the technical drawing^^ someone's bound to have these. For now, I donated the larger variety to a focus, which barely accommodates them , and traded out for the originals. I need the wiggle room afforded by the original size on a new project.
